# Chapter 58: The Countdown to Freedom Begins
Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 58 of "REMARRIED AFTER I SECRETLY DIVORCED THE CEO" – a chapter that feels like the calm before a storm, but also the quiet dawn of liberation. Let's dive right in!
---
Half-asleep and still weak from a fever that had come and gone over the past two days, Autumn vaguely heard her phone ringing. She didn't even glance at it. She just turned over, pulled the blanket tighter, and slipped back into a deep, dreamless sleep. The call eventually disconnected on its own.
When she finally woke up for good, she felt lighter. The fever had broken. Her body was still tired, but her mind was clearer than it had been in weeks. She packed up her things and headed home.
As soon as she walked through the door, Zoe rushed over to greet her, her face full of worry and apology. She took Autumn's bags and set out a pair of slippers. "Ma'am, I'm so sorry," Zoe said, her voice trembling. "I wanted to bring you meals while you were in the hospital, but Madam Grace wouldn't let me. She said you needed time to reflect on what you'd done wrong."
Autumn's lips curled into a sharp, mocking smile. *Of course.* Grace was as shameless as ever. She just couldn't stand the sight of Autumn living too comfortably. Every now and then, she'd invent some excuse to make her life harder.
Autumn remembered telling Julian about this before. At first, he used to comfort her, saying, "She's getting old. It's not like we live with her. Just ignore it." But as time passed, his patience wore thin. He'd snap at her, "You're making a big deal out of nothing. I've got enough on my plate every day. Don't drag me into your issues with my mom."
But now? None of that mattered anymore. Whatever Grace did or said no longer touched her, because the countdown had begun. Just three days left. Three days until she pulled her suitcase out of this house and never looked back.
The thought alone lifted her spirits. She hugged Zoe tightly and said with a warm, genuine smile, "I'm fine now, really. Don't worry about it." Tomorrow, she would report to Vanguard. By Wednesday, she'd be gone. Finally escaping this miserable life.
Zoe picked up a flat envelope from the coffee table. "Ma'am, this came by same-day courier from Mr. Carter. It's addressed to you – looks like documents."
Autumn took the envelope. It was the kind used for legal paperwork. The fact that Julian had to use a courier to get documents to her – when they lived in the *same house* – said everything. He hadn't been home in ages.
She tore it open and pulled out the letter. The words "Legal Notice" were printed across the top. A mocking smile tugged at her lips. *So Julian was really going through with it. He was actually suing her.*
Fine. If he wanted to play hardball, then he better be ready for her to do the same.
Zoe caught sight of the words on the envelope and her eyes widened in shock. But when she looked at Autumn's expression, she saw only calm. It was as if she had known all along that this was coming. Zoe couldn't wrap her head around it. Why couldn't Julian just talk things out properly? Why deliver a legal letter while his wife was still recovering in the hospital? No matter what Autumn might have done, this was unbelievably cold.
"Ma'am, this..." Zoe hesitated, clearly wanting to say more but holding back.
"It's fine." Autumn pulled the notice from the envelope and tossed the packaging into the trash. "I'll take care of it myself. I'm heading upstairs."
She wanted to see just what kind of nonsense Julian had written, so she could figure out how to strike back.
Once in her room, she opened the legal notice. In black and white, it claimed that due to negligence on her part, she had caused the company a direct loss of one million dollars and was now being sued to pay it back. The next page accused her of deceiving Grace out of six million dollars. Combined, she was ordered to repay seven million dollars within three days. Attached was a copy of a receipt as so-called evidence.
Clearly, they had come prepared.
But Autumn was ready too. She wasn't the same woman who would have crumbled under this pressure months ago. She had her own plans. And time was on her side.

**Reader's Impressions & Star Rating:**
Oh, what a chapter! The tension is building beautifully. I love how calm and collected Autumn is now – she's no longer the victim; she's a woman with a plan and a deadline. Julian's coldness is infuriating, but it only fuels her resolve. The legal notice adds a layer of urgency and stakes. I can't wait to see how she fights back!
**Rating:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.8 / 5 Stars)
**Next Chapter Prediction:**
I bet Autumn will use her new position at Vanguard to gather evidence or leverage against Julian. She might even expose his shady dealings with Grace. The three-day countdown makes me think something explosive will happen right before she leaves – maybe a final confrontation or a twist that leaves Julian stunned.
